Clou wins Design Plus Award
for innovative design

Spring 2011 Clou received a Design Plus Award during ISH in Frankfurt (Germany), one of the most trend-setting fairs in the field of sanitary ware. Clou received this prestigious award for a composition from the Wash Me bathroom series.
Design Plus, organized by Messe Frankfurt in cooperation with the German Design Council, is one of the leading design competitions in Germany. The prizes are annually awarded to products that combine, in a professional way, attractive design with innovative materials. In total 145 companies submitted 254 products. Of these 33 products are awarded a Design Plus Award. The renowned award, which is presented since 1983, has previously been won by famous brands as Alessi, Joseph Joseph, Stelton and Royal VKB.

Visual tranquillity

The praised composition exists of a dresser, a washbasin and mirror from Clou’s Wash Me series: Wash Me dresser (210 cm), Wash Me mirror in shelf (210 cm) and Wash Me washbasin (110 cm, concrete). Besides the technical and ecological quality of the design, other criteria were the choice of materials, user value and the entire concept. The jury formulated their motivation as follows: “The timeless Wash Me series is a source of visual tranquility in bathrooms. The white high-gloss dresser in combination with the concrete washbasin is the highlight of the series. A relaxed look with a solid proportional set-up.”

A minimalistic series

Besides washbasins and bathroom dressers the Wash Me series consists of wash-hand basins, mirrors and bathtubs in various sizes and materials. From honed basalt to the innovative mineral marble, aluite and concrete. The waterstops are available in various bright colours. The products in this minimalistic series are designed by René Holten, who’s designs have been awarded before. Holten is known for his high qualitative products that often have a refined, timeless and innovative character.
